CMI was developed to fill in the information gaps for the legally armed civilian.

Most defensive instructors are only able to teach the mechanics of self defense. Often, the students train and practice to high levels of proficiency. Yet, rarely does the civilian receive any instruction on critical issues such as:

• How to maintain a safe lifestyle,
• When you may or may not use deadly force,
• What happens after you take legal defensive actions

Knowledge in these three areas is second in importance only to surviving the initial attack.
